How to Create a Point of Sale Channel

Mantle’s Point of Sale (POS) system allows you to manage sales across multiple locations and registers. Before setting up a POS channel, ensure your store is created. If not, follow this guide: [How to Add a Store Location] ([link to guide]).

Steps to Create a Point of Sale Channel:

  1. Access Channels
    • Go to the left-side menu and click CHANNELS.
    • Then, click MANAGE CHANNELS to see your current sales channels (if any).
  2. Add a New Sales Channel
    • At the bottom of the page, click ADD A SALES CHANNEL.
    • In the pop-up window (see screenshot), select POINT OF SALE.
  3. Configure the POS Channel
    • Description: Enter a name for this POS channel (e.g., “Front Counter POS”).
    • Inventory Store Location: Choose the store location for this channel.
      • Tip: If you’re setting up a register for an off-site location (e.g., conventions), create a location for it first ([link to Add a Store Location guide]).
  4. Link a Cash Register
    • Click the ADD+ button to attach a cash register.
    • Select the appropriate register ([link to How to Create a Cash Register]).
  5. Save and Validate
    • Click VALIDATE, then UPDATE to finalize your POS channel setup.
