How to Add a Catalog Subscription to Your Database

A catalog subscription allows you to maintain up-to-date catalog information directly from a publisher or Mantle’s catalog team. By subscribing, you automatically receive updates for changes, corrections, and new releases for the selected game or publisher, ensuring your database stays current without manual intervention.

Steps to Set Up a Catalog Subscription

  1. Access Inventory Management
    • Go to the Inventory tab in the left-hand menu.
    • Click on Manage Subscriptions to view your current subscriptions.
  2. Create a New Subscription
    • Click on New Task to add a new catalog subscription.
    • Select the game or product line you want to subscribe to.
  3. Customize Your Subscription
    • For a Full Product Line (e.g., all of Magic: The Gathering):
      • Select Product Line (e.g., “Magic”).
      • Leave other filters blank except for Update Frequency (recommended: Daily).
      • Name the subscription something recognizable, like “All MTG“.
      • Click Save and close the pop-up window.
    • For Specific Products (e.g., a particular set or rarity):
      • Select Product Line (e.g., “Magic”).
      • Add filters such as Set Name, Condition, and Rarity as needed.
      • You can select multiple options per filter, like both Near Mint and Lightly Played for Condition.
      • Name the task descriptively, e.g., “MTG Dominaria – NM/LP“.
      • Click Save and close the pop-up window.
  4. Database Loading
    • Large subscriptions, such as entire product lines, may take up to five minutes to load as Mantle creates a dedicated copy of the Master Database for your system.
    • Photos, which are larger files, may take an hour or more to fully sync, depending on the subscription size.

Important Notes

      • Performance Tip: For optimal system performance, avoid overly frequent update frequencies. We recommend Daily as the minimum.
      • Photo Loading: Text data is prioritized for speed, while photos may take longer due to their file size.

By following these steps, you’ll ensure your catalog stays accurate and up-to-date, saving time and reducing errors in your inventory management.
